Paddy Bushe

Paddy Bushe has published thirteen collections of poetry, four of which are in Irish. He has also published nine volumes of translation between Irish, English and Scottish Gaelic. He edited Voices at the World’s Edge: Irish Poets on Skellig Michael. A member of Aosdána, he has received the Irish Times Poetry Award, the Michael Hartnett Award and Duais Sheáin Uí Ríordáin.

Born in Dublin, he has, with his family, lived for more than half a century on the shore of Ballinskelligs Bay in Kerry.

Although much of his poetry originated in travels in places such as Nepal, China, Morocco and Greenland, the primary and longstanding source of his work has been the land- and seascape of his adoptive home, especially the evolving culture inherent in it.
